Rena Jennings - Career Staff
Rena was raised and still lives in Bedford County. She has 4 awesome children who live close to her, including her grandson, Bear. She attended Staunton River High School. After graduating, she went to Hope Sound Bible College in Florida and later attended and graduated from The College of Health Sciences. After graduation, she started her career with Public Safety. Rena worked part time for almost 17 years with Roanoke City Fire/EMS as a paramedic. She continues to instruct for the city as well as for Public Safety when needed. Rena has also been in real estate for the past 15 years. She says, “I enjoy being a Firefighter/Medic but l look forward to retiring in 3 years.”
Rena’s dad and uncles were volunteer fighters and her mom is still with the Ladies Auxiliary at Hardy Volunteer Fire Department. Rena volunteered with Hardy Rescue before she started her career in Fire/EMS to help her community. She currently volunteers with “Putting a Dent in Mental Health,” an organization created to build an grow a national vision of support for First Responders that suffer from mental health Issues. Rena enjoys archery, playing the piano and mostly spending time with her grandbaby, Bear, and her children. She enjoys cooking when she has time.
